About Organization

The Sikh Missionary College is an organisation for propagating the Sikh Religion which was established on May 30, 1980 at New Delhi, India by Gursikhs from Delhi & Punjab. It was decided to form a Supreme Council of nine founder members to run the organisation.

S. Harbhajan Singh of Ludhiana was appointed the President of the organisation and it was decided to setup the head office of the organisation in Ludhiana. The founder members and other leading members were already associated with the study and propagation of Sikhism for about 15 to 20 years. Therefore despite being a new organisation Sikh Missionary College established itself as a leading organisation in the field of propagation of Sikhism. Today, nineteen years after its foundation it is considered next only to Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandhak Committee, Amritsar. In addition to the head office at Ludhiana it has sub-offices at Delhi, Chandigarh and Jammu .There are approx. 450 Study-Circles in India and other countries of the world which are engaged in propagating the faith. To serve the community well and to conserve all resources for propagation of religion only, the organisation has kept aloof from all kinds of political activities.
